Podiatry License Guides

How a podiatrist licensed in one state gets licensed in another, for all 50 states and DC.

Every added state is a full podiatry license. Some states endorse a license held elsewhere, some recognize any license after a year, and some, like New York and Georgia, take a full application from everyone. Residency length, state exams and ankle scope differ too. Every fact here links to its source; anything we could not confirm is marked as not verified rather than guessed.

Checking what you may treat? Ankle, amputation and anesthesia limits by state.

Verified October 10, 2026. Each board decides its own applications; confirm with it before you rely on a detail.

Where the compact stands

The Interstate Podiatric Medical Licensure Compact is not active and issues no licenses. Enacted so far: Iowa, Maryland, which is not enough to start it. We sell nothing compact-related; if you want to hear when that changes, join our free notification list.
